Bruce Wallace Sheckler, Jr.

Born on September 3, 1942 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Bruce and Ruby Sheckler, Sr. He was predeceased by his first wife Judy Marie Sheckler, who died in February 1985. He was the loving husband of Elsie Elaine Sheckler for 30 years.
Mr. Sheckler was a graduate of High Point High School in 1960. He was employed from 1971-1973 with the Washington Navy Yard, 1973-1977 with the U.S. Government Printing Office which he retired from and 1985-1999 with the Frederick City where he also retired. He also owned and operated B&E Lawn Care for 40 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, going to various club's he was a member of such as, American Legion, Amvets, Eagles, Owls Club, VFW, Orioles, Moose and Redmens. He will also be missed by his dog Molly.
In addition to his wife, Bruce is survived by his children, two sons Bruce W. Sheckler, III and Bradley D. Sheckler both of Frederick, MD, two daughters Susan L. Williams and partner Pat Riley of Kearneysville, WV, and Sherri L. Johnson and husband John of North Port, FL, two step children - Karen S. Linthicum and husband Dwight of Kearneysville, WV and Mike A. DeGrange and wife Karen of Burkittsville, MD, grandchildren; Gregory F. Williams, Jr. and wife Whitney of Charles Town, WV and Kyle Williams of Charles Town, WV, two step grandchildren; Corbin C. Linthicum and Camelia L. Linthicum both of Kearneysville, WV, two great-grandchildren; Bailey and Beau Williams both of Charles Town WV and sister-in-law Jenny Banks and husband William of Weldon, NC.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 13, 2018 from 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where funeral services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 11 AM. The interment will follow in Fort Lincoln Cemetery in Brentwood, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Bruce W. Sheckler, III, Bradley D. Sheckler, Pat Riley, Dwight Linthicum, Jr., Michael DeGrange, and Corbin Linthicum. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Mr. Sheckler's name to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
