Thomas F. Watson

April 21, 1964 — April 25, 2018

It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas F. Watson of Hagerstown, formerly of Frederick, announce his sudden passing on April 25, 2018 at the age of 54. He was the son of Barbara A. Watson and Dennis and Barbara J. Watson, all of Frederick. Tom will be lovingly missed by his best friend and wife, Stephanie Watson, of 17 years and their daughter Elizabeth Watson still at home. He will also be forever remembered by his stepson‘s, Timothy and Clayton Grossnickle of Middletown. Also his son Dylan Butler of Virginia, daughter Samantha Watson, her fiancé Chris Smith of Frederick and their mother Robin. Also, his loving grandson Gage Smith.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and being silly with the little ones. His favorite pastimes were playing cards with his mom, watching the Washington Redskins and listening to Howard Stern, but most of all he took great pride in making everyone around him laugh.

Mr. Watson was a 1982 graduate of Frederick High School. He was a previous owner of Watson’s Ice & Beverage in Frederick. Most recently he worked for the Frederick Sam’s Club. He was a life member of the Independent Hose Company, Sons of the AMVETS Post 2, and Sons of the FSK American Legion post 11, all in Frederick.

Tom also leaves behind his brothers Dennis B. Watson Jr. of Frederick, Michael J. Watson of Thurmont and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 1-4 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home at 4 PM. Deacon George Sisson of Holy Family Catholic Community will officiate. A memorial mass will be scheduled at a later time. The interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Son's of the AmVets, 702 E. South St., Frederick, MD 21701.
