Robert Eugene Fout

Mr. Robert "Bob" Eugene Fout, 65, of Frederick, passed away unexpectedly at his home Thursday, March 22, 2018.  He was the son of the late Ralph E. Fout, Shirley (Keeney) Fish and Isaac "Jack" Fish.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Gay (Hoffman) Fout, son Eric Fout and wife Alma, son Nicholas Fout and wife Maggie, and granddaughter, Ava Fout.  He is also survived by five siblings and respective spouses, including Jackie Gabrielian and husband Craig, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Born on December 12, 1952, Bob was a lifelong resident of Frederick, a graduate of the Governor Thomas Johnson High School Class of 1970, and an unwavering Dallas Cowboys fan.

Inspired by stories told by his great-grandmother and her siblings, Bob pursued a lifelong interest in genealogy, a passion which continued after his retirement from biomedical research.  Above all, his greatest joy was his family.  He treasured hearing his granddaughter call "Pappy" when she arrived for her weekly sleepovers and visits.  He also valued his relationship and time spent with his father-in-law, Oliver "Jake" Hoffman.

Bob’s family would like to acknowledge the outpouring of support from friends, neighbors, and family, including the YMCA Senior Water Volleyball League.

At his request, all funeral arrangements are private.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
