Margaret Louise Main

March 1, 1936 — February 12, 2018

Mrs. Margaret Louise Main, age 81 of Frederick passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018. She was the wife of both the late Harry "Sam" Stottlemyer who passed away in 1968 in Dickerson, MD and the late John A. Main, Jr. who passed away in 2009. Born on March 1, 1936 in Athens, TX she was the daughter of the late Robert W. & Mary E. Curtis.

Mrs. Main worked for a longtime at Village Lanes in Frederick as a cook. She is will also be remembered for her volunteer work for the New Market Ladies Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed playing BINGO and bowling.

Mrs. Main is the mother of Robert E. Stottlemyer and wife Cheryl A. of Hatfield, PA, Christine M. Clark & husband Steven G. of Frederick, and Samuel K. Stottlemyer and wife Sherri L. of Chambersburg, PA. Mrs. Main is survived by 8 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Main was the stepmother of Jeffrey A. Main and wife Marion of Yakima, WA and survived by 3 step grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Marian Curtis of Alameda, CA. Mrs. Main is preceded in death by her grandsons Jeremy Allan Stottlemyer and LCpl Travis Martin Stottlemyer, her step grandson Austin Main, and her siblings Robert Curtis, James Curtis, and Mary Hawkins.

Friends will be received on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4 to 7 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1 PM. The interment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Main's name to the New Market District Volunteer Fire and Rescue company, 76 W Main St., New Market, MD 21774.
