Scott Alan Mcknight

Scott Alan McKnight went to be with our lord and savior on 28 January 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Judith Suzann McKnight (Goodman) for 46 years.

He came into this world in Milwaukee, Wisconsin 28 July 1949. He was the son of the late Othar Dalton McKnight and Virginia McKnight (Moen).

Scott was a proud Soldier in the US Army, serving in Vietnam (2 Tours) and retiring after 22 years as a Master Sergeant in 1990. He continued to work in his chosen field until his death at Defense Intelligence Agency and Transportation Security Agency for another 28 years. Scott was a longtime member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Frederick.

Scott was a loyal Elk and member of the Frederick Elks lodge #684. He served as the exalted ruler of the lodge 2015-2014 and West District Vice President 2015-2016. Many people would not have known Scott unless he had a camera in hand and due to this love of photography he was the official photographer of the Maryland, Delaware and DC State Elks association along with Publicity and Public Relations chairman for the State organization.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Danniele McKnight of Frederick and Michele Wald of Bellmawr, NJ. Grandson Nathan Wald; Brother Bruce (Robert) of Frederick Colo. Sister-in-Laws Ann McKnight of Baton Rouge LA ,Jeanne Vargo McKnight of Sarasota, FL, Joan Gager (Dennis) and Joyce Fisher (Wallace). Brother-in-Law John Goodman (Judy) Nieces Margie Meltzer (Andrew), Heidi Hackett (Christopher), Christi Garcia (Mark) and Jenna Vargo-McKnight; Nephews Jeremy McKnight (Victoria), Andrew McKnight (Jamie) and James Vargo- McKnight. He will also be remembered by adoptive daughter Angela Kleimola (James) and granddaughter Marie Kleimola.

He was preceded in death by brothers Bradley McKnight, John McKnight and James McKnight.

Services will all be held at Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 Church St. Frederick, MD. Visitation Wednesday 31 January 2018 1800-2000 with Elk Memorial Service to be held at 1900. Visitation 1 February 2018 1000-1100 and funeral services 1100. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.

In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to the Evangelical Lutheran church youth program at the above address.
