Catherine L. Wolfe

October 31, 1921 — January 9, 2018

Mrs. Catherine L. "Cathy" Wolfe, 96, of Frederick, passed peacefully in the loving arms of her granddaughter Princess (Stacey Seibert) surrounded by her family in her home, on Tuesday, January 9, 2018.
Cathy was born October 31, 1921 in Hagerstown, MD, to the late Helen S. Markell and Benjamin A. Gordon. Cathy's halloween birthday played a significant part in her nickname "The Old Witch".
Cathy was the wife of the late Gail C. Wolfe, who passed December 7, 1984. He spoiled Cathy and gave her a life full of adventure.
Cathy loved her family with all of her heart. She was the devoted mother to five children; Benjamin Bowman of California, Ronald and wife Nancy Seibert, Dixie and husband David Brunner, Sandra and husband Gordon Smith, Dennis Sr. and wife Mary Seibert all of Frederick.
Cathy was the loving grandmother to Jon Gail Bowman (Nicole Lloyd), Brock Seibert, Kimberly, Kevin, and Robert (Samantha) Brunner, Wesley Smith, "Princess" Stacey, Dennis Jr., Mitchell (Jessica Runner), and Holly Seibert.
Cathy was also the loving great-grandmother to Chloe Carter, Warren, Janna, and Jasmin Bowman, Emma, Mackenzie, and John Brunner and Emma Smith.
She is survived by one sister, Pauline "Bobbie" White of Hagerstown and many nieces and nephews.
Cathy was an active member of Bush Creek Church of the Brethren and looked forward to her lunch outings after church with her friends. She was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Frederick Chapter No. 79, and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Cathy had an infectious smile, huge heart, and sense of humor until her last day. She leaves an imprint on everyone's heart she touched. Cathy enjoyed shopping, going to the summer concerts at Baker Park and carnivals with Dennis and Mary, traveling, and doing her crossword puzzles. For many years after her husbands passing, she continued to work for his company, Wolfe Industrial Auctions, Inc. She would show up to work with goodies so no one would go hungry. Cathy was a beautiful and classy lady inside and out. She was known for always sparkling with all of her jewelry.
For the past three years her beloved daughter-in-law, Mary Seibert along with her granddaughter Princess, became her primary caregivers. They were known as the Three Musketeers.
The bond Cathy shared with Princess was very special. When you saw one, you were sure to see the other. Princess along with her daughter, Chloe, were Cathy's pride and joy. She lived for them day and night.
Over the years she became grandma to many others through Stacey's circle of friend's.
Cathy will be greatly missed and forever loved.
Cathy was predeceased by her younger sister, Patsy Barnhart.
