Charles Meredith Young

C. Meredith Young, age 93 of Frederick, Maryland passed January 6, 2018. He was the beloved husband to the late Emma Elizabeth Young (nee Gordon) for 30 years. Born in Frederick, Maryland on May 9, 1924, he was the son of the late Charles and Alma (nee Bussard) Young.

Meredith was a career painter and was known for painting church steeples across Frederick. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and maintaining his garden.

He is survived by his son, Ernest Lincoln Young Sr. and his wife Sylvia, his grandsons: Ernest L. Young Jr. and his wife Sarah, and Wayne Bradley Young and his wife Deeana, his great-grandchildren; Samantha Gresham, Lauren Young, Carson Bower, Morgan Young, Eli Young, and Troy Young, his great-great-granddaughter Emma Gresham, his siblings; Merle Young, Paul Young, Edwin Young, Marion Young, and Dorothy Bailey. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his siblings; Richard Young, Grayson Young, Thelma Moore, and Betty Kaufman.

Family and friends can gather at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 4pm to 7pm. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2pm. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
