Mary Frances Virginia Beard

Mary Frances Virginia Stone Beard, age 85, of Homewood at Frederick, formerly of Thurmont, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Born on August 4, 1932 in Frederick to the late Albert Norwood and Madeline Elizabeth Stone (nee Flair). She was the beloved wife to the late Luther Beard, Sr.

Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her large family. She cared deeply for every one of them.  Mary was known for her ability to cook and bake, as well as her love for sewing, crocheting, and hummingbirds, but was best known for her love of shopping.

Mary is survived by her children; Luther M. Beard Jr., Penelope Marie Misner, and her husband Skipper, Sharon Lynn Richards, and her husband Ronald, her brothers; Albert, John, Jerry, Skip, and Raymond Stone, her sisters; Rose Ruff, Betty Bowers, and Margaret Main, Grandchildren; Krissy Yingling, and her husband Curtis, Tobby Beard, Robbie Burras, Jason Misner, Dougie Burras, and his wife Kim, Michael McNaughton, and Jonathan McNaughton, Great-grandchildren; Kelsey Misner, Lexi Misner, Donavin Yingling, Cory Yingling, Katlyn Yingling, Carley Burras, Aaron Burras, Cody Burras, Collin Burras, Ella Pearl, and Adrianna Yingling, granddaughter-in-law Rachel Misner, she also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mary also had a very special Aunt Mayetta Zimmerman, and a dear friend Mary Chandler. Mary is predeceased by her siblings; Chester, Charles, Richard, Robert, Agnes Horner, Barbara Anderson, and grandson Billy Misner.

Family and friends may gather at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home P.A., 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701, on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Uniontown, MD.
