Lloyd Frederick Kimmel

Mr. Lloyd Frederick Kimmel III, 80, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of Martha Darner Kimmel. Born in Frederick on September 5, 1936, he was a son of the late Lloyd F., Jr., and Pauline Ausherman Kimmel.
Lloyd was a graduate of Frederick High School Class of 1954 and served in the United States Army Reserve. He had worked at the Ox-Fibre Brush Company, M. R. Pfoutz Woodworking in Union Bridge and for over 30 years he owned and operated Kimmel Electric. He enjoyed spending time with his entire family, old cars, traveling to Ocean City and fishing. He was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Jefferson.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children, Steven Kimmel and wife Jenni, of Taneytown and Holly Kimmel-Miller and husband Ron Workman, of Frederick, two sisters, Virginia Lee Ramsburg, of Middletown and Teresa Kay Kline and husband Charles, of Frederick, six grandchildren, Kristopher, Luke, Andy, Seth, Maggie, Evan and wife Chrystie, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Jefferson. The Rev. Dr. Robert Driver-Bishop, interim pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Jefferson Lutheran Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3864 Jefferson Pike, Jefferson, MD 21755.
