Candiz Lucille Notnagle

Mrs. Candiz Lucille Notnagle, 88, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, with her children by her side. She was the wife of the late Franklin Leonard Notnagle, Jr., who passed away on July 2, 1990.

Born on September 18, 1928, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey and Zillah Markoe Beachley.

She graduated from Boonsboro High School. Candiz married Franklin Notnagle Jr. on June 11, 1955. She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church on Church Street in Frederick. From 1948 to 1956, she worked at the C & P Telephone Company.

She loved her family and enjoyed gardening and antiques. She was a strong, feisty and independent women.

Candiz is survived by son, James Notnagle (Sandy) of Gettysberg, PA and daughter, Robin Notnagle (Mike Leister) of Frederick.

One of eleven children, she is also survived by brother, Carl Beachley (Mary), and sisters, Beverly Shaff (Bill) and Mary Lee Stitley, all of Frederick.

She is preceded in death by brothers, William, George, Markoe and Daniel Beachley and sisters, Mary Lou Beachley, Sharon Howie and Judy Beachley.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am, on Friday, May 5, 2017, at the Evangelical Lutheran Church, 31 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will follow at 11:00AM, at the church. Rev. Naomi Hartman will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Evangelical Lutheran Church at the above address.
