Angelo Andonio Guariglia, Sr.

Mr. Angelo Andonio Guariglia Sr, 83, of Frederick died Monday, March 6, 2017. He was the husband of Helga Guariglia.

Born January 18, 1934, in Bartonsville, he was the son of the late Rocco Guariglia Sr. and Lillie (McDonald) Guariglia.

Angelo was SP5 in the US Army serving from 1956 until 1962. He was a sharpshooter and received a Purple Heart for his service. He loved to vacation at the beach. Angelo was a favorite among the children for his egg hunts. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandson.

He is survived by his children, Sylvia Weddle (Ron), Angela Clarke (Gregory), Angelo "Tony" Guariglia Jr. (Barbara) and Rick Guariglia (Lori), legal guardian to Angela Klingler (Donald), grandchildren, Stephenie, Angelo III, Michelle and Ricky, great-grandson, James, siblings, Angeline Lawson, Rosie Bell and Rocco Jr., numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, on Friday, March 10, 2017 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, March 11, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
