Lena Mae Norris

Mrs. Lena Mae Norris, 71, of Frederick, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Golden Living Center, Frederick. She was the wife of the late Franklin Wayne Norris, who died January 21, 2010.

Born September 15, 1945, in Frederick, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary E. Kaufman Gilbert. In earlier years, she provided child care to area families; worked at the I-70 Truck Stop and she and her husband ran a janitorial service.

She is survived by four siblings, Donald Gilbert, of Emmitsburg, Catherine Wiles, of Gettysburg, PA, Mary L. Gilbert and Helen V. Norris, both of Frederick; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by eight siblings, including James Gilbert, Charles Gilbert, Beatrice Rice and Edna Warrenfeltz.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 5 pm on Sunday, December 4 ^th at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 1pm on Monday, December 5. Interment will be in Mount Prospect Church Cemetery, Lewistown.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Frederick County Animal Shelter, 1832 Rosemont Ave, Frederick, MD 21702.
