Maureen Keenedy Ridge

Mrs. Maureen Susan Kennedy Ridge, 67, of Frederick, passed away this weekend at her home. Born at the Women's Hospital in Redruth, Cornwall in the UK on October 3, 1948, she was the younger daughter of the late Stewart and Susanna Mary (nee Withers) Kennedy of Newquay, Cornwall.
She was a loving mother to her children, a devoted bookkeeper for Dr. Amy M. Killeen, DMD, in Walkersville, MD, and an avid gardener. She had many friends and loved many children through the dental office and was dedicated to diabetes health education and living green.
She is survived by her three children, Daniel S. K. Ridge and wife Christianne, of Washington, DC; Jennifer A. R. Akhtar and husband Jawad, of Kansas City, MO; and Edward J. "Joe" Ridge, of College Park, MD; her sister, Joyce Dahlquist, of Parkville, MO; six grandchildren, Cameron, Miriam, Sonia, Zane, Maria and Peter; and two nieces, Denise and Fay. She will be remembered by special friends Kathy and Dave Shores and their two children Christopher and Olivia.
A  public memorial reception for any and everyone touched by Maureen's life will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 2:30 p.m., at the Delaplaine Arts Center, 40 South Carroll Street, Frederick. Arrangements are with  Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Private interment will be at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins Hospital, 600 North Wolfe Street, Baltimore, MD 21287 or the Fountain City Brass Band, PO Box 7119, Kansas City, MO 64113.
