Linda Jane Kolb

March 17, 1952 — June 28, 2016

Linda Jane Kolb, 64, of Thurmont, passed away peacefully on the evening of June 28 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Linda was born on St. Patrick’s Day in 1952 in Frederick to William and Barbara Kolb. The oldest of five siblings, Linda graduated from Catoctin High School in 1970. She loved being a camper and counselor at Mar-Lu Ridge in Jefferson, MD, and looked forward to an annual reunion of counselors every summer. Linda loved to travel, going on cruises and taking a dream trip to Ireland, but she loved being at the beach the most. She was an avid reader, cook, gardener and cross-stitcher. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Francis Scott Key Post #11. But above all, Linda was a loving wife, a great friend to many, and the true joy of her life was being a parent and grandparent.
Linda is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Rizzo of Thurmont, her son and daughter-in law Joshua and Courtney Brohawn of Frederick, her beloved grandchildren Maya and Luke Brohawn, also of Frederick, and countless friends and family who loved her dearly.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.

The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Frederick Memorial Hospital and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for the exceptional care they gave her during her recent hospital stays.
