Jack L. Dundee

Lt. Jack L. Dundee (USN Ret.), age 71 of Middletown, passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. For 49 years, he was the husband of Doraine W. Dundee, whom he married on June 24, 1967. Born on June 21, 1945 in Hobbs, New Mexico, he was the son of the late Leland and Annabell Dundee.

Lt. Dundee served in the United States Navy Submarine Service, entering the military in 1963. Prior to his commission, he was a missile technician. He retired as a Lieutenant in 1983. He earned a BS degree from St. Leo University in 1982. He continued his education at Hood College, and earned his MBA in 1990. Following his military service, Jack enjoyed a variety of post-retirement occupations, most notably of which was his employment at Emporium Antiques in downtown Frederick, MD. He played the guitar and mandolin, and was devoted to country western music. Mr. Dundee was a lifetime member of Middletown Amvets Post #9. His love for his family was exceptional.

Mr. Dundee was the father of Craig Dundee and wife Mary Kaye of Union Bridge, Carrie Dundee Harris and husband James of Middletown, and Neil Dundee and wife Gina of College Park; the grandfather of Alexa Bowers, Carey Dundee, Kathryn Dundee, Kelsey Schwarz and husband Alan, Alexandria Harris, Molly Harris, Gianna Dundee and Francesca Dundee. He is also survived by his brother Dr. Gary Dundee and wife Carol of Center Point, Iowa as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM and also Monday, June 27, 2016 from 11 AM to 12 PM, at Holy Family Catholic Community, 7321 Burkittsville Rd, Middletown, MD 21769. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, June 27th at 12 Noon. Monsignor Robert Jaskot will officiate. A private inurnment will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. All arrangements are by the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, Frederick.
