Sandra Jean Eckenrode

March 31, 1960 — June 5, 2016

Sandra Jean Eckenrode, 56, of Frederick, passed away into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 5 at Frederick Memorial Hospital, after enduring a brave 22 year battle with diabetes. She was the loving wife of Patrick Eckenrode. Born on March 31, 1960 in Frankfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of Lewis Jenkins and Lena Owens Jenkins.

She was a 1978 graduate of Jefferson High School. Sandra was a previous employee of the US Government as a secretary until she became involved in home day care for children until illness forced her retirement. First and foremost, Mrs. Eckenrode loved her Lord, followed by family, the beach and shopping. QVC lost a very good customer.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sandra is survived by her son, Jeffrey of Frederick, brother Carl and wife Tonia of Charles Town, brother Terry and wife Debbie of Kearneysville as well as their son Steven. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

There will be no public viewing nor visitation. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 11 at 11:00 AM at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick, with Pastor Gilford B. Turner officiating.
