Shirley Faye Shipley

Mrs. Shirley Faye Shipley, age 85, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016. She was the wife of the late Lloyd Walter Shipley. Born on October 6, 1930 in Masontown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Alverda Franks.Mrs. Shipley was a 1949 graduate of German Township High School in McClellandtown , PA. Following her graduation, she worked for Congressman Thomas Morgan in Washington DC for ten years. She suspended her work career to be a mother and homemaker and then returned to the workforce working as an Instructional Aid for the Frederick County Public Schools. Mrs. Shipley was an active member at the Ijamsville United Methodist Church.Mrs. Shipley is survived by his two sons Eric M. Shipley, Sr. and wife Evone of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Michael R. Shipley and wife Jamie of Urbana; the grandmother of Eric Shipley, Jr., Jackson Shipley and Emmanuelle Shipley. Mrs. Shipley is preceded in death by her brother Donald Wayne Franks.Friends will be received on Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 7 to 9 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral Home on Friday, April 15, 2016, at 10 AM. Rev. Franklin D. Bishop will officiate. The interment will be private.
