Betty C. Perkins

January 15, 1931 — March 28, 2016

Mrs. Betty C. Perkins, age 84 of Thurmont, died on Monday, March 28, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Howard T. Perkins who passed away in 2005. Born on June 15, 1931 in Creagerstown she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ethel Speak.

Mrs. Perkins worked as a presser until her retirement in 1997 and was also a homemaker. She regularly attended the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Utica.

Mrs. Perkins is survived by her children, Mary F. Rice of Thurmont, Allen W. Perkins and wife Linda of Frederick, and William "Billy" W. Perkins and wife Glenda of Brunswick, 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and 8 step-great-grandchildren. She is additionally survived by her daughter-in-law Wanda Perkins and sister-in-law Shirley Speak. In addition to her husband and parents, she is also predeceased by her son Charles E. Perkins.

The family will be received friends on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick where funeral services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 1 PM. Rev. Albert Lane will officiate. The interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Contributions may be made in Mrs. Perkins' name to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 10625 Old Frederick Rd., Thurmont, MD 21788.
