Ruth Ellen Fraley

Mrs. Ruth Ellen Fraley, 81, of Frederick, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at her residence. She was the loving wife of the late Charles R. Fraley.

Born June 27, 1934, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth Shaw.

Ruth was a member of Maranatha Community Church (ICC) in Frederick. She was devoted caregiver to her husband for 12 years, after he developed Alzheimer's Disease. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafts and was an avid gardener.

She is survived by her children, Ruth E. Montgomery and husband Charles, Charles D. Fraley and Douglas R. Fraley, brothers, Walter Shaw, Donald Shaw and Larry Shaw, grandchildren, Brian and wife Nicole, Heather and husband Rich, Andrew and wife Angie, Mallory and husband Chris, Chai, Jesse, Justin and Regina, great-grandchildren, Emma, Kaitlyn, David, Hunter and Ryder, numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are being handled by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, on Friday, March 4, 2016, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick, MD 21701. Pastor Jerry A. Price will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 108 Byte Dr. Suite 103, Frederick, MD 21702.
