Donald Harry Stiles

Donald Harry Stiles, 70, of Jefferson, Maryland, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.

Born September 20, 1945, in Washington D.C., Don was the son of the late Richard and Louise (Flynn) Stiles. Don grew up in Prince Georges County, MD, and graduated from Northwestern High School in 1963. Don went on to graduate from Stayer Business College, attaining accreditation in computer technology. He was employed by the C & P Telephone Company as a computer programmer and then progressed to a technical support specialist. Don transferred his technical expertise to the Canadian firm, Data Crown, in Silver Spring, until their closing. After the closing of Data Crown, he joined AT&T in their Silver Spring data center, retiring in 1987. Don dutifully served his country as a National Guardsman during the Vietnam conflict and took honorable discharge after six years of service. Don enjoyed his retirement traveling with Sharon, and perusing his interests in investing and finance.

Don is survived by his beloved partner and soulmate of 39 years, Sharon Augustiny of Jefferson, MD, where she and Don had resided since 1995. He will also be lovingly remembered by his dear friends, Howard and Sandy Reid of Manteo, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Senior Center, 806 East Main Street, Thurmont, Maryland 21788.

A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick.
