Joyce Dade Remsberg

August 24, 1931 — February 19, 2016

Mrs. Joyce Dade Remsberg, age 84 of Jefferson, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the widow of John H. "Jack" Krantz, Jr. who passed away in 1974 and Merhl D. Remsberg who passed away in 2002. Born on August 24, 1931 she was the daughter of the late Maurice Lee and Hazel (Cawood) Dade of Mountain Top Farm, Jefferson.

Also known as Mom, Granny, Honey and Gigi, the most important thing to Joyce was her family and family gatherings. She enjoyed sewing, needle crafts, reading, and pretty much anything crafty, and was an accomplished painter.

Mrs. Remsberg is survived by her daughters, Marilyn Krantz, Jody Krantz-Workman and husband Larry and Leasa K. Mercer and husband Barry; her stepdaughter Missie Remsberg; her grandchildren Sarah Evans-Tomlin and husband Evan, Dusty Rood and wife Kristina, Dallas Rausch and husband Michael, and Katie Renner and wife Gretchen Ruck; her great-grandchildren Henry Reardon, Logan Rausch, Daniel Rausch, Hailey Rood, and Charlie Rood. She is preceded in death by her brother Stanley M. Dade.

A memorial service is planned for Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 1 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Her interment will be private. Contributions may be made in her name to the Jefferson Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 578, 4603 A Lander Road, Jefferson, MD 21755.
