Mary Jane Tinney

Mrs. Mary Jane Shoemaker Tinney, 87, of Frederick, passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016, at the Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Kenneth P. Tinney, who died on January 5, 1968. Born in Frederick on March 2, 1928, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Elizabeth Shultz Shoemaker.

Mary Jane graduated from Frederick High School Class of 1946 and attended Miss Willard's School for Secretaries. She had worked for many years for Home Mutual Insurance Company, as a secretary. She had also worked for Barnes Jewelry Store. Mary Jane was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Surviving her is one son, David B. Tinney, sister, Anna Mae Emmons, granddaughter, Diane Tinney and great grandchildren, Isaiah and Tamara Ellis. She will also be missed by special cousins, Linda and Brent Ferree.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Friday, February 12, 2016, at the funeral home. Dr. Michael O'Donnell, will officiate. Interment will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
