Edward Cooke Hutchins, Iii

August 2, 1955 — February 3, 2016

Mr. Edward Cooke Hutchins, III passed away unexpectedly at his home.  He was the loving husband of Catherine W. Hutchins, his soulmate.  Born on August 2, 1955, he was the son of the late Edward Cooke Hutchins, II and Betty Pauline Barthlow Hutchins.

Eddie, also known as Butch, was a carpenter his whole life. He was a lifetime member of the Amvets and Redmen clubs, an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, played softball and wore #18, was quite the pool shark back in the day & enjoyed golf. He loved all of his children and grandchildren with all of his heart and soul and would spend time with them any chance he could get. He also would make it a point to spend time with his friends and keep in touch. He was man’s man in every way.  To those who knew him, he was quite the jokester and was always trying to make people laugh. He touched many lives, was loved by all, and will be greatly missed.

Survived by his children Tresha Remsburg and husband Danny of Middletown, Summer Moore and husband Cody of Knoxville, Aimee Hutchins of Frederick, Edward Hutchins IV and wife Kate of Union Bridge, and Kari Hutchins of Frederick. Step-children Christie Freedman and husband Tim, Stephen Wolfe of Eldersburg, Tyler Kubilus and wife April of Frederick, Joe Kubilus and wife Nikki, Brad Thomas and wife Alison, and Timmy Greenburg of Eldersburg. Grand-children Desiree, Hunter, Amya, Bow, Layla, Macie, Rilynn, Lily, Cash, three on the way. Great-grandchildren Waylon, Levi, and one on the way.

Also survived by his loving sister and best friend Patty Weddle of Venice, Fl., along with sister Darlene Unkle of Frederick who has been by his side, brother John Hutchins of Phoenix, Az., brother Freddie White of Ky, also many nieces and nephews, all his childhood friends and many other special friends. He also will be greatly missed by his dogs Lakota and main man Hulk.

He was preceded by his parents, his brother Jimmy White and his 1st nephew Terry Whitmore.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 8 from 5 to 7 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.  A funeral service will follow, promptly at 7:00 PM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
