Carol Vachon

Carol Vachon, aged 84, passed away at Stella Maris long term care facility in Lutherville, MD on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. She was the widow of the late Dr. John David Vachon. Born in Barney, Alabama, April 17, 1931, she was the eldest of two children by the late Maxwell O. and Aldine Mildred Dean. At the age of 7, she moved with her family to West Virginia where she lived until her graduation from West Virginia University. She moved to Baltimore, MD., where she married her husband of 45 years. They moved to Frederick County in 1958 where he opened his dental practice in Middletown. Carol Vachon was actively involved with St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, a member of the local garden club and an avid bridge player. She also loved tennis and golf. She is survived by three daughters, Dee Dee Vachon Lee and husband, James H. Lee, Jr., of Great Falls, VA., Dr. Debra Ann Vachon and her husband, Donald E. Tush, of Reisterstown, MD., Mary Card Vachon of Baltimore, MD., and one son, Joseph Dean Vachon and wife, Lori Li Vachon, of Los Angeles, CA., three grandchildren, Eric Vachon Lee, Caroline Vachon Lee, and Gregory David Vachon Tush, and her sister Catherine Jo Dean of Greensboro, NC. The family will receive friends at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E Church Street, Frederick, MD on Sunday, November 15 from 2-5PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 16 at 11AM, St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church. Burial will be at Saint John Catholic cemetery, immediately following funeral services. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 118 E Second Street, Frederick, MD. 21701.
