Leslie Sovocool, Jr.

July 3, 1937 — October 7, 2015

Leslie R. "Sonny" Sovocool, Jr. passed away on Saturday, October 17 at the Golden Living Center in Frederick, MD. He was a resident of Knoxville, but grew up in Graceham, MD, near Thurmont. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie R. Sovocool and Clara E. (Stambaugh) Sovocool. Sonny was born on July 3, 1937; he graduated from Thurmont High School in 1955. He retired from a career at Airpacs in Frederick. Sonny was a founding and life-time member of the Graceham Volunteer Fire Co. No. 18 and he was recognized for his outstanding service to the Company. A memorial service will be held at the Graceham Volunteer Fire Co., 14026 Graceham Rd., Thurmont, on Saturday, November 14 at 11 am. Internment will be in the Graceham Moravian Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the Fire Company.
