Edna Charlotte Cage

July 29, 1924 — October 4, 2015

Mrs. Edna Charlotte Cage, 91 died October 4th, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of Richard Henry Cage to whom she was married for 64 years. Born July 29nd 1924 in Jefferson MD, she was the daughter of Russell and Molly Davis Miller. She was raised by her Uncle Claude and Aunt Lucinda Keller. Surviving is her son, Richard Henry Cage 2nd and granddaughter, Aja Cage as well as nephews David Cage, Pete Cage, Bob Cage and Dwayne Miller. Mrs. Cage was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers, Charles S. Miller and Robert W. Miller. She was a graduate of Frederick High School. In earlier years she worked for Home Beneficial Life Insurance Company. She and her husband owned and operated the White Cottage Inn in Hansonville MD. For many years she was on the board at the Frederick Senior Center. She was also a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jefferson MD. Edna enjoyed baking, gardening, bird watching, arts and crafts and spending time with her family and friends. The family will receive friends and expressions of sympathy on Friday, October 9 from 4 to 6 PM at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 10 at 11:00 AM in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
