Mr. William Craig Martin, 61, of Frederick, died on October 2 at his residence. He was the husband of Amy (Villard) Martin. Born on April 22, 1954, he was the son of Matthew Martin and Anne (Craig) Jessen. Mr. Martin was a graduate of Paul D. Schreiber High School in Port Washington, NY. Before moving to Maryland, he was a long time resident of Long Island, NY. Bill enjoyed a long career as a carpenter working both in New York and Maryland. His greatest pleasure was being outdoors. Bill loved golf, the beach, working on cars and anything to do with his yard and riding his John Deere. He also enjoyed his dogs and many other pets, some he rescued and released. All animals seemed to take to him, so his nickname was Dr. Doolittle. In addition to his wife, Amy, and his parents, Bill is survived by his daughters Heather Martin of Jefferson, MD and Demi Martin of Frederick, MD as well as his grandson Trent Martin of Jefferson, MD. He is also survived by his siblings Barbara Dermody (Kevin), Doug Martin (Sheri), Steve Martin, Ellen Duplantis (Chad) and Matthew Martin, Jr. as well as nieces and nephews and godson Brian Dermody, Erin Dermody, Megan Dermody, Ryan Martin, Daniel Martin, Alyssa Martin, Austin Duplantis and Ava Duplantis. He was preceded in death by his stepmother Nancy Martin and will be missed by many other friends and extended family members. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 11 from 2 - 5 PM at Keeney and Basford PA Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick. A memorial mass will be offered on Monday, October 12 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph on Carrollton Manor, 5843 Manor Woods Road, Frederick. Inurnment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Frederick.
