Maetta L. Hewitt

Maetta L. (Brown) Hewitt, 86, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of 49 years to the late Morris Donald Hewitt. Born on November 26, 1928 in Sabillasville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Letha (Wolf) Brown. Maetta was the last of her immediate family. Maetta was a beautician in the 1950's at Lovely Ladies Salon and owned and operated Mother Nature's Nursery with her husband Morris. She loved nature, particularly wildflowers and would often enjoy going to the Cozy Restaurant to eat. She was young at heart and was known for her sweet and loving disposition. No one, friends or family went hungry in her home. She was always making sure everyone went home full. She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. Maetta is survived by her daughter, Sharon Fritz and her husband Wayne; her grandson, Guy Fritz and his wife Amii; her great-grandchildren River, Luna and Oliver, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her nephews, Clinton Rhodes and wife Peggy, Donald Hewitt and wife Cindy, Bruce Hewitt her niece, Patti Rhodes and her brother-in-law, Willis Hewitt. She will also be missed by her special friends, Donald Shook and Larry Rhodes and wife Barb; and her kitty Sunshine. Interment will be private in Mount Prospect Cemetery in Lewistown. Reverend Katie Penick will officiate.
