Alice Estella Lawson

June 26, 1931 — December 9, 2014

Mrs. Alice E. Lawson, age 83 of Frederick, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014. She was the wife of the late Lawrence Lawson who passed away in 1973. Born on June 26, 1931 in Frederick she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Bertha Nusz. Mrs. Lawson was a graduate of Frederick High School in the class of 1949. She worked for Brown's Liquor Store for almost 20 years. She was a member of the AMVETS Post 2 Auxiliary here in Frederick. In her free time, she cheered for the Baltimore Orioles and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Mrs. Lawson was the mother of Sally Crist and husband Mike, Grace Barrett and husband Bobby, Lawrence Lawson Jr. and wife Shari, Warren Lawson and former wife Robin, Nancy Rhymer and husband Robert, Harold Lawson and wife Sue, and Mary Lawson; the grandmother of 11 and the great grandmother of 16. She is additionally survived by several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandson Larry Crist and great granddaughter Bailey Henderson. A graveside service is planned for Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 11 am at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 515 S. Market Street, Frederick. Rev. Tim May will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148.
