Marshall Floyd Hooper

September 24, 1922 — November 15, 2014

Marshall Floyd Hooper of Frederick passed away on November 15, 2014, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the son of the late D. Walter and Lucy E. Hooper. Marshall was born on September 24, 1922 and was a farmer all his life. His greatest pleasure was to ride the tractor, which he continued to do until shortly before his death, and he could often be seen in the fields of the Hooper Farm. Marshall is survived by his brother, Roland Hooper, his daughter, Susan Hooper, his niece, Anne Heavner, and his nephew, Donald Hooper, along with his grandnieces, a grandnephew, a great-grandniece and great-grandnephews. He also leaves behind his good friends, Randi Cannon, and Alice & Bill McReynolds, and their children. The family will receive friends and family at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, on Thursday, November 20, 2014 from 2-3 pm where services will begin at 3 pm in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. Rev. Timothy S. May, Sr. will officiate. The interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Marshall's name to the Frederick County Animal Control, 1832 Rosemont Ave., Frederick, MD 21702 or to the charity of your choice.
