Ms. Amy Nanayo Hoshina-Myles, age 38 of Springfield, Virginia, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at her residence. Born on February 11, 1975 in New Britian, Connecticut, she was the daughter of Mineo and Linda Hoshina. Amy grew up in South Windsor, Connecticut. She went to the American School for the Deaf and Windsor Public School in Connecticut. She graduated from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC in 1999. She worked for American Athletic Association of the Deaf in Utah and Salk Institute in San Diego. When she wasn't working, she loved to travel and enjoyed being a wonderful mother to her children. In addition to her parents, Amy is survived by her four children, Brady Alphonse Myles, Zenmatsu Cullen Myles, Kamiasha Nanayo Myles and Sigourney Aiko Myles, her brother Ben Hoshina and his wife Wanda and their son Caden. Friends will be received on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 2-4 PM at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD where a memorial service will begin at 3:30 PM. Father Michael J. Jendrek will officiate. An additional memorial service will be on Sunday, February 9, 2014 in Connecticut (Exact location/time to be determined - check back for updates).
