Miss A. Marguerite Burgee, 92, of Ijamsville, died on Saturday, January 12, 2013, at her home, where she had lived her entire life and also was born on the family farm on September 26, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Frederic Uriah and Hattie Bell Murphy Burgee. The farm in Ijamsville was in the family for over 100 years and at one time they also owned a farm in the Sugar Loaf Mountain area, she along with her family worked the farms. Marguerite was a graduate of Frederick High School Class of 1938, a life long member of the St. Ignatius Catholic Church, member and past president of the Pleasant Grove Homemakers Club, and attended the University of Maryland Short Course Week for homemakers. She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, caning chairs and farm work. At one time she was active as a judge for local fairs. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Uriah Burgee, who died on July 31, 1983. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 a.m., on Thursday, January 17, 2013, at the St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, Ijamsville. The Rev. Michael J. Jendrek, will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Arrangements are with the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick.
