Charles Harvey Grubbs, 65 of Ijamsville, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the loving husband of 46 years, to Mrs. Donna Jean (Showe) Grubbs. Born February 22, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert Emory and Pauline Anna (Wolfe) Grubbs. He was a graduate of Frederick High School, class of 1966. He was employed with Sam Poole Heating and Air Conditioning for many years, working as a technician and supervisor. In later years, he then worked with Tri-State Home Services. Charles was a dedicated and loving man to his family and many friends. He was a loving husband, adoring father and true friend. He loved his home and took pride in his yard and garden. He was always willing to lend a hand. In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his daughter Cristi Jean Grubbs and partner Alisa Jessee; brother-in-law, Terrance "Terry" Showe and wife Patricia; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Niles and fiance, Darius Lorens and Kathi Geisbert and husband Charles; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends, dear friend, Beverly Hubble; and his Basset Hound, Reggie and Wheaton Terrier, Hannah. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Grubbs. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Thursday, January 10, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, January 11 in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. The Reverend Harry C. Cole will officiate. Interment will follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.keeneybasford.com
