Mrs. Mary Alice Brown, 86, of Frederick, died Thursday, January 3, 2013, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late William E. Brown, who passed away in January 2009. They were married for 62 years. Born on July 10, 1926, in Frederick, she was the daughter of the late Carl Urban and Myra Stitley Poole Urban Anderson. She was employed at C&P Telephone Company during WWII and also at Frederick Title & Abstract Company for over 20 years. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Dougherty and husband Harold of Libertytown and Betsy Abel and husband Robert of Berlin, son-in-law, Claude Hartman of Salisbury, grandchildren, William Hartman and wife Julie, Dawn Hartman and Bill, Brad Dougherty and Jazmin and Amanda Parsons and husband Brandon, great-grandchildren, Sydney Parsons, Savanna Parsons, Barbara June Hartman and Mackenzie Dougherty, special friend, Carol Stitley, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Marianne Hartman and sister, Myra Kelly. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, on Sunday, January 6, 2013, at the Keeney & Basford P.A. Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, on Monday, January 7, 2013, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel. Pastor Helen Smith will officiate. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
