Phyllis Carolyn Morgan of Frederick, Maryland passed away at home on Tuesday, October 02-2012 at age 87, the wife of the late Raymond P. (Jack) Morgan. Born on October 13, 1924 in Yellow Springs, she was the daughter of the late Hench E. M. and Hester I. Smith. Dr. Raymond P. Morgan II and Merry C. Morgan of Hagerstown, Maryland survive her as well as Kelly (granddaughter) and Brian Griffin of Frostburg, MD, Douglas (grandson) and Jennifer Morgan of Arnold, MD, Elizabeth (step granddaughter) and Adam Tobias of Pittsburgh, PA, and Rebecca (step granddaughter) and Guy Nerad of Essex Junction, VT. Four great-grandchildren also survive - Eleanor and Jameson Morgan of Annapolis and Isabel and Clay Nerad of Essex Junction. Six brothers and sisters - Sherwood Smith, Geraldine Krantz, Gilmer Smith, Markell Smith, Meredith Smith and Miriam Angleberger - preceded her in death. Sue Morgan of Frostburg, Maryland and numerous nephews, nieces, and neighborhood friends also survive her passing. G-mom (and later GG-mom) enjoyed gardening crocheting, and knitting, was an expert seamstress, as well as being an excellent cook. She rejoiced in loving all children, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Family and friends may call from on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 6 to 9 PM at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, MD where services will be held in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Friday, October 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Reverend Edward Heim will officiate. Private interment for family will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Frederick, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to support the Hospice of Frederick County, or to a favorite charity in her name.
