Mrs. Helen Elizabeth (McKinley) Landis, 89, formerly of Frederick, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012, at Julia Manor Heath Care Center, in Hagerstown. She was the wife of the late William McCleery Landis. Born on July 23, 1922, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Wastler) McKinley. She is survived by her son, William McKinley Landis of Hagerstown, granddaughters, Heather Wilt and husband Jonathan of Leonardtown and Samantha Bowling and husband David of Bryantown, great-grandsons, Nate Wilt and Samuel Wilt, son-in-law, James Bell of Mechanicsville, numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death, by her children, Richard Eugene Landis, Robert Carl Landis and Norma Elizabeth Bell. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 pm, on Monday, January 23, 2012, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. Services and inurnment will be private.
