Mary Louise Zell

Mrs. Mary Louise Zell, 76, formerly of Rockville, MD, died Wednesday, July 20, 2011. She was the wife of the late John Durrell Zell.

Born on March 10, 1935, in Washington D.C., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Patrick and Mary Louise O'Connor.

Mrs. Zell was a Third Order Franciscan and a Consecrated Widow of SOLT. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, genealogy, sewing and decorating cakes.

She is survived by six children, Diane Leonard, Mary Louise Hotovy and husband Michael, John Zell and wife Karen, Matthew Zell and wife Ellen, Christine Ehlers and husband Ray and Theresa Pugh and husband James III, fourteen grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Jean Patricia O'Connor and brother, John "Jack" Moreland O'Connor.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 on Sunday, July 24, 2011 at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 9201A Church Street, Libertytown, MD. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 am, on Monday, July 25, 2011 at the church. Rev. Msgr. Robert Jascot will officiate. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD. Father Jason Worley will officiate.
