Frederick Thomas Weller

July 8, 1939 — August 15, 2010

Mr. Frederick "Fred" Weller, 71, of Myrtle Beach, SC, died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2010, at Medical University of South Carolina. He was the husband of Mary Kathryn Woerner Weller for 52 years.

Born in Frederick County on July 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Franklin Thomas Weller and Eva Virginia Keller Weller.

He was employed for nearly 30 years at Eastalco Aluminum in Frederick and recently retired to Myrtle Beach. More than ever he enjoyed spending time with his family, the outdoors, boating and golfing, and sampling new restaurants. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. Of particular remembrance was his love and affection for "Angel", his miniature schnauzer and constant companion.

Surviving in addition to his wife are one son; Curtis L Weller and wife Barbara of Millersville, Md; two daughters, Cheryl L Holder and husband Dennis of Springfield, Va, Margie J Wilson and husband Gary of Conway, SC; four grandchildren, Daniel and Brian Weller, Dana and Eric Wilson; one sister, Ruth Houck of Walkersville; two brothers, Roy Weller and wife Dee Ann, and Franklin Weller, all of Frederick; brother-in-law Chris Woerner and wife Marie of Frederick; sister-in-law Martha Ploor and husband Lawrence of Bowie. He will also be remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday Aug. 20, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21. Officiating will be the Rev. Beverly Stang.

Interment will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.
