Thomas A. Shepherd

Mr. Thomas A. Shepherd, 62, of Thurmont, died Saturday, December 10, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Margaret E. Rogge-Shepherd for 17 years.

Born on August 15, 1949, in Washington D.C., he was the son of the late John and Ruth (Reagan) Shepherd.

Thomas was proud of his service in the US Marine Corps. He was always fond of the outdoors. In his spare time, he was an avid reader.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his siblings, James Shepherd, Pauline Porter and husband Bob, Marie Butler and husband Jackie, Michael Shepherd and Anne Bonn, numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, on Friday, December 16, 2011, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD 21701. Deacon John L. Manley will officiate. Inurnment will be private.

Arrangements are being made by Keeney & Basford Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be shared in his name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hosp, 510 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
