Sara Ann Schneider

Sara Ann Schneider, 80, of Rockville, died on Monday, June 13, 2011, at the Gilcrest Hospice Center, Towson, after a lengthly illness. Born April 7, 1931, in Dayton, OH, she was a daughter of the late George M. and Sara H. DeWitt Lohnes. She was a member of Damascus United Methodist Church and Telephone Pioneers of America. Prior to her retirement she worked with C&P Telephone and later AT&T. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved the time she spent with her family. She is survived by four daughters, Judith S. Kit, of Sparks, Linda Schneider, of Damascus, Marilyn "Mimi" Schneider, of Front Royal, VA, and Martha "Marti" Schneider, of Rockville; two grandchildren, Elena Schneider, of Laurel, Kaitlin Kit, of Sparks; two great-grandchildren, Henry Cooper Jones and Collin Bennett Jones; a sister, Marilyn Lohnes, of Damascus and brother, George "Smokey" Lohnes, Jr, of San Clemente, CA. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 6pm on Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the Shrine of Saint Jude "Blue Room", 12701 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20853. Interment will be private.
