Mr. Carl Edward "Buck Rentzell, Jr. 70, of Frederick, died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Susan (Sperry) Rentzell.

Born on January 10, 1941 in Frederick, he was son of the late Carl Edward and Hazel G. (Baughman) Rentzell.

Mr. Rentzell was a graduate of Frederick High School class of 1959. After high school, he served in the US Air Force from 1960 to 1964. He worked for the Clorox company for over 30 years and later retired from Fusion UV Systems. In his later years, he enjoyed making wooden toys for his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he survived by his daughter, Bethani E. Tayler, son, Carl E. "Skip" Rentzell III and wife Deborah, brother, William Michael Rentzell, grandchildren, Trenton, Dylan and Samantha Tayler, Caitlyn, Allyson and Heath Rentzell, brother-in-law, Charles H. Sperry and wife Pamela, mother-in-law, Vivian Sperry, nieces and nephews, Kathy, Debbie and Rusty Potts, Robin Potts Barton and husband Terry, William "Chip" Rentzell and wife Katharyn, Chuck Sperry and wife Kris and Lisa McConnell and husband Patrick, 6 grand nephews and 2 grand nieces.

He was preceded in death by sister, Catherine "Kitty" Potts and husband Russell "Sonny" and sister-in-law, Phyllis Smith Rentzell.

The family will be receiving friends from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 10, 2011, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel. Rev. Dr. Larry L. Eubanks will officiate. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
