Glenn L. Reimel

Glenn Leroy Reimel, 83, of Middletown MD, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 11th, 201l. He is the husband of Betty Reimel. They would have celebrated 61 years of marriage on May 27, 2011. He was born November 23 1927, to the late Stanley and Helen Wolfe Reimel, formerly of Sciota, PA. He served in the United States Army Air Froce at the end of World War II, and he received a B.S. degree in civil engineering from Lafayette College, Easton, PA. Prior to his retirement, he was plant manager of Coplay Cement Company, formerly Alpha Portland Cement Company. Following retirement, he enjoyed attending public auctions and sales; going to steam engine shows and had been a member of the Antique Car Club. He was also a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoy spending time with all of his family. In addition to his loving wife, Glenn is survived by three children, a son, Glenn B. Reimel and wife Janie of Berkley Springs, WV; two daughters Connie L. Wolfe and husband Jim of Smithsburg, MD, Tennie H. Hamilton and husband David, of Frederick; nine grandchildren, Susan Campbell, Michelle Santana, Sarah Ruppenthal, Amy Kidrick, Shannon Oranczak, Michael Wolfe Sr., Jessica Ryan, Steven Wolfe, Aaron Wolfe; four great-grandchildren, Michael Reimel, Madison Oranczak, Mykenzy Wolfe, Michael Wolfe, Jr. He is also survived by two sisters, Elva Thomas, Charlene Serfass; four brothers, Douglas Reimel, Stewart Reimel, Edward Reimel and Robert Reimel; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers John and Richard Reimel. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 17th, at The Good Shepherd Ministries, 19763 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor Steven McCullough, will officiate. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Good Shepherd Ministries Building Fund, 19763 Longmeadow Road, Hagerstown, MD 21742. The Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E Church Street, Frederick, is in charge of funeral arrangements and online condolences may be shared with the family at keeneybasford.com.
