Mr. Bernard Thomas Price Sr., 86, of Frederick, died Thursday, April 1, 2010, at College View Center, Frederick. He was the loving husband of the late Betty Darlene Bowers Price, who passed away Nov. 15, 2008. Born in Tuscarora on April 22, 1923, he was a son of the late Vernon and Dora Horman Price. Mr. Price proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He was retired from Fort Detrick in Frederick after more than 40 years in civil service. Mr. Price was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church and the Francis Scott Key American Legion Post 11. Surviving him are one son, B. Thomas Price II and his wife, Bea, of Frederick; two grandchildren, Tony L. Price and his wife, Jen, and Karen L. Price; one great-granddaughter, Alison; and two sisters, Jenny Hemp of Jefferson and Betty Cannon and her husband, Connie Mack, of Frederick. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his friends at Fort Detrick, Barbara Fritchie Restaurant and Zoe's Chocolate Co. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 6, 2010, in the Etchison Memorial Chapel of the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. The family will receive friends one hour before the services. Monsignor Richard Murphy, of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, will officiate. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 112 E.
