James Michael Cornwell

Mr. James "Jimmy C" Michael Cornwell, 59, of Frederick, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Carol A. (Fedorko) Cornwell for 37 years at the time of his passing.

Born on April 23, 1952, in Washington D.C., he was the son of Nellie (Gallerizzo) Cornwell and the late Norman Cornwell.

Jim graduated from Crossland High School, Oxon Hill, MD in 1970. He was employed at Safeway for 32 years until his retirement. In his spare time, he loved to sing karaoke and spend time with his friends and family. He was a member of the American Legion Post #11, Owls Club, Elks and the VFW.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his sons, James "Jamie" A. Cornwell and fiancee Nicole Heck and Nicholas "Nick" S. Cornwell and wife Brittney, brothers, Richard Cornwell and wife Katherine and Norman "Tony" Cornwell and wife Debbie, sister, Kathleen Smetana and husband Edward, grandchildren, Calvin Cornwell, Roxy Cornwell and Kelsey Lucas, numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 pm, on Monday, January 2, 2012, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 118 E. 2nd Street, Frederick. Father John Lesnick will officiate. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Highway, Frederick.
