Robert John Brady Sr.

Mr. Robert John Brady Sr., 77, passed away November 6, 2011 in Woodsboro, MD, in his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was the husband of the late Gloria Mae Frye-Brady.

He was born on December 1, 1933, in Bucks County, PA. He was the son of the belated Frank Brady and Lillian Miller-Brady.

Mr. Brady served his country in the US Army and fought in the Korean War, where he received a purple heart. He worked as an Auto Mechanic for 52 years with Alpacker Ford, Frederick Motor Company, Jenkins Motors and Ideal Buick. After he retired, he worked alongside his son and best friend Robert Brady Jr. Mr. Brady enjoyed spending time with family and friends, hunting, fishing, sports, playing bingo and loved listening to country music. He was a proud member of the Owls Club, Patriot Club, American Legion and Moose Lodge in Frederick, MD.

He is survived by his daughters, Terry Mender and her partner Andy Clem of Frederick, MD, Virginia Rice and her husband Michael Rice Sr. of Frederick, MD, Tammy Norin and her husband Michael Norin of WV, son, Robert Brady Jr. "Brady" of Middletown, MD. grandchildren, Crystal Kitchin and her husband William, Timothy Mender and his wife Elizabeth, Robert Brady III, Michael Rice Jr. and his wife Angie, Michelle Rice, Jennifer McLaughlin and her husband Steve, Christina Abiba, Jaime Brady and Arianna Norin, and fifteen great-grandchildren, brother, Walt Brady of West Palm Beach, FL, special friend, Katherine Ropp, numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Brady, his sister, Florance "Flossy" Heck, father-in-law, Raymond Frye, special Aunt and Uncle, Howard and Edna Finch.

The family will receive friends from 7pm to 9pm, on Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at the Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will be at 1pm, on Friday, November 11, 2011, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick. Rev. J. Kenneth Stalls will officiate. Inurnment will follow.
