Anita Marie Sabin

Anita Marie Sabin, 77, of New Market, MD, passed on Friday October 24, 2025. Born on May 27, 1948 to the late Joseph Charles and Ann Catherine (nee Cronin) Sabin.

Anita was a devout Catholic for many years and an active member of St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church. She was a member of the seven sister’s catholic women’s group.

She also enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and was an avid tennis fan. Anita also enjoyed traveling, including her trips to Italy and Jerusalem.

Anita is survived by, her son Drew Matera (Rachel), her sister Cathy Lastner (Jeff), nephew Matt Lastner (Aimee) and great niece and nephew Kylee and Braeden Lastner, and niece Jess Lastner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road, Ijamsville, MD 21754 on Friday October 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the St. Ignatius Historic Church cemetery.
