Basker Kalamba, 19, of Urbana, MD, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2026 in Monterey, California.

Born August 27, 2006, in Silver Spring, MD, he was the first born of Ngandu and Chouchouna Kalamba. Basker was a graduate of Urbana High School. He attended Montgomery College for a year prior to joining the US Navy. He was an avid gamer, music enjoyer, and jokester. He was respectful and peaceful.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Vanessa Kalamba and Christiana Kalamba, grandparents, Christophe Kamba, Bertine Kapinga, Anne Rolly Tshibuabua and the late Kabasele Albert Mputu. Basker is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles.

The family will receive friends from 4pm to 7pm, on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick. The funeral service will be held at 11am, at New Apostolic Church, 1910 Putty Hill Avenue, Parksville, MD 21234. Interment will follow at the Maryland State Veterans Cemetery at Garrison Forest at 2:30pm.
