Bonnie Kaye May

Bonnie Kaye May (Grimes), of Williamsport, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home on August 22, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on December 6, 1950, in Dickerson, Maryland to parents Thomas Grimes and Genevieve Grimes (Keeney), she lived a life rooted in family, which meant everything to her.

Bonnie is lovingly remembered by her husband, Nathan L. Haines, Jr., who stood by her side with unwavering devotion. She was a proud mother to her son Douglas May and his wife Lindsay May, and a cherished grandmother to their son Grayson May. She also held a special place in the lives of her stepdaughter Hilary Cree and her husband Nicholas Cree; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her sisters Barbara Smith and Shirley Webb, and her brother William Grimes. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and other family whose presence greatly enriched her life through the years. She was preceded in death by her sisters Rosie Lamb, Kathleen Ray, Evelyn Warfield, Dorothy "Peggy" May, and Annabelle May; and brothers Charles Grimes and Kenneth Grimes.

Bonnie's family would like to recognize Hospice of Washington County, who were integral in her transitional care; special recognition to CNA Bebe with their heartfelt appreciation. If desired, donations can be made to Hospice of Washington County in Bonnie's name.

The family will receive friends at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street, Frederick, MD, on Thursday, August 28, 2025 from 4 - 7 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, August 29, 2025, beginning at 11 A.M. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
