Christoph “Chris” Becker Kenny
October 27, 2002 – April 27, 2026
Christoph “Chris” Becker Kenny, 23, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away on Monday, April 27, 2026, following a motorcycle accident.
Chris was born on October 27, 2002 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and moved to the US in May, 2009 and became a proud US citizen. He attended Brunswick Elementary, Middle, and High School before completing his final three years at Urbana High School (Class of 2021). He also earned the rank of Eagle Scout with Brunswick Troop 277, a reflection of his discipline and character.
Chris was mathematically gifted and had a natural aptitude for technology. He enjoyed assembling computers from scratch and selling them as a hobby. Though naturally shy and often avoiding the spotlight, Chris had a quiet warmth about him - when he smiled, he truly lit up the room. His favorite phrases included “Are you kidding me?“ - said with a grin and “That’s Awesome!”- with a huge smile.
A passionate automotive enthusiast, Chris took great pride in his yearslong restoration of a salvage-title 2003 Mercedes-Benz CL55 AMG, a project which showcased his skills and perseverance. He was also a regular at Cars and Coffee gatherings in New Market and Poolesville, where he built many friendships and shared his love of cars with others.
Chris worked at Advanced Auto Parts Urbana, where he was respected by his colleagues, took great pride in his work, and on the day of his passing, received his three-year service pin, a milestone he was very proud of. He was particularly fond of his manager and mentor, Tom.
Chris loved travelling. After spending his young childhood in Malaysia, Chris traveled widely across the US, spent a summer in Paris, and visited Germany, Italy, and multiple Greek Islands - experiences he treasured.
Chris will be remembered for his quiet strength, his intelligence, and deep passions. His loss leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Chris is survived by his parents Angelene (Lynn) Kenny and Kevin C. Kenny, as well as older brothers and sisters, Scott, Brian, Thomas, Stefan and Lauren Kenny. He is also survived by his grandmother and other relatives in Malaysia.
A funeral service will be held at Evangelical Lutheran Church in Frederick, Maryland, at 6:00 p.m. on May 7, 2026, with visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. A light fellowship dinner will follow the service. Chris will be cremated and laid to rest in the Columbarium at Evangelical Lutheran Church.
