After courageously battling cancer for 11 months, Cynthia Lynn MacKenzie, age 60, passed at her home surrounded by her family on October 5, 2025. She was born in Frederick, MD on July 4, 1965 and is the daughter of James Elmer Schroyer (Pam) and the late Carole Cecile Schroyer (nee Kinnaman).
Cindi enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones, going to the movies, the beach and reading. She was always a loyal and dependable friend and willing to help her family and friends when needed. She had an amazing sense of humor and loved to laugh. Cindi also enjoyed finding treasure at various thrift stores.
Cindi leaves behind her daughter Deidre Lichens (Michael Burrows), son John MacKenzie (Peyton Barber), daughter Carley Lee (Tom), sister Joanne Bartgis (David), sister Teresa Hyden (David) and sister-in-law Debbie Schroyer. Cindi is also survived by her nephews Daniel Bartgis (Anne), Matthew Bartgis and John Schroyer, Jr., great-nephew Harrison Bartgis and great-niece Kathryn Bartgis , She will be remembered by her lifelong family friend Betty Lou Breeden. She is predeceased by her brother John Schroyer.
The family will receive friends at Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church Street on Sunday, October 12, 2025 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held beginning at 2:00 pm.
